
Dr Philip Dodgson was born in Sheffield in 1952. He was educated at Lydgate Lane and King Edward VII Schools, Sheffield before studying Medicine at Nottingham University Medical School. After doing housejobs and GP training in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, Dr Dodgson worked as a GP in Derby for 32 years. In March 2010, and after hearing about yet another planned government reorganisation of GP services, Dr Dodgson handed in his notice and retired a year later, on the 31st March 2011. Dr Dodgson is interested in travel, photography, maps, walking, archaeology and Real Ale. He and his wife, Cecilia currently divide their time between Derby and as many other places as possible, including wherever their seven grandchildren are.
